FRANKFORT, Ky. – Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear has appointed the following members to the Kentucky State Corrections Commission to serve for terms expiring Feb. 17, 2011:
- James Mooneyhan, of Franklin, is a retired jailer from the Simpson County Jail. He currently works as a part-time sports announcer and sports director for WFKN Radio. Mooneyhan represents members at large.
- Melanie Watts-Hinkle, of Louisville, is a former special agent for the U.S. Secret Service. She currently works as a part-time corporate security consultant for Annapolis Group Ltd., out of Baltimore. Watts-Hinkle represents members at large.
- Brunhilda C. Williams-Curington, of Louisville, has served as an associate for mission personnel compensation and benefits for the Presbyterian Church (USA). She currently is pursuing a Masters of Applied Information Technology from Bellarmine University. Williams-Curington represents members at large.
- Michael J. Bauer, of Louisville, is a community developer and general contractor. He represents business and industry.
- John L. Kiesel, of Louisville, is the medical director and a physician at Central State Intermediate Care Facility for Persons with Mental Retardation. He received is Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Kentucky. Kiesel represents service providers.
- Laura Brandenburg Roberts, of Wilder, is a retired assistant director from the Campbell County Department of Housing. She currently works part-time at the Campbell County Detention Center. Roberts represents services providers.
- Faye Liebermann, of Lexington, is a retired telecommunications service assistant and representative from Verizon/GTE. She served as president of the Communications Workers of America, Local 3372. Liebermann represents labor.
- Robert Bradley Coffman, of Bowling Green, is a practicing attorney for Coffman & Smith. He received his Doctorate of Law from the University of Louisville. He represents practicing attorneys.
The Kentucky State Corrections Commission consists of nine members, six of whom are appointed by the governor. The commission is charged with awarding all grant money to community corrections programs along with developing and implementing a statewide strategic plan for community corrections programs.
