Three Kentucky signatories on pro-drilling letter to Pelosi

Boyd county settles with former clerk
CATLETTSBURG — The BoydCounty Fiscal Court has approved settling a lawsuit with former Clerk Doris Stephens Hollan by forgiving funds owed to the county.
The dispute, which has been ongoing for months, centered on an audit of Hollan’s office released last December that determined she had underpaid the county more than $60,000 in excess fees. (Daily Independent, Carrie Kirschner)

Ky.’s Jobless Rate Up
Kentucky’s seasonally adjusted preliminary unemployment rate for June 2008 rose to 6.3 percent from May 2008’s revised 6.2 percent, according to the Office of Employment and Training (OET), an agency of the Kentucky Education and Workforce Development Cabinet.
