KDP fundraiser: Gov. Beshear suggests joint hunting trip for Bush, Cheney

During his speech at Friday night's Kentucky Democratic Party fundraiser, Gov. Steve Beshear unleashed what may have been the quote of the event thus far. Suggesting Democrats were better problem solvers than Republicans, Beshear allowed the following:

"I can think of only one Republcan who can be a problem solver and that is Vice President Cheney, if he would just take George on a hunting trip," Beshear said.

The comment was a reference to a 2006 incident during which Cheney accidentally shot hunting companion Harry Whittington in the face with birdshot pellets during a quail hunting trip in Texas. Whittington was hospitalized for a few days following the incident.
