The storm of surrogates into the Commonwealth from the presidential campaign of Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.) looks to be continuing all the way until Kentucky's May 20 primary election. Today, the campaign announced Clinton'sBill Clinton in Pikeville: Politicker Photo husband, former President Bill Clinton, will be in Kentucky on Thursday and Friday on behalf of his wife's candidacy.
Complete details are as yet unavailable, but what is known is that President Clinton will be in Louisville, Bardstown, and Elizabethtown on Thursday for three seperate events.
At 3:30 pm on Thursdsay, Clinton will headline a "Solutions for America" event at Butler High School in Louisville, located at 2222 Crums Lane.
A Bardstown event is scheduled next, according to a campaign release, but details are presently unavailable.
President Clinton closes the day in the state with another "Solutions for America" event at 7:30 pm at John Hardin High School in Elizabethtown, located at 384 W A Jenkins Rd.
No details are available for Clinton's time in Kentucky on Friday, but if he is in the Louisville area, he will be sharing the spotlight with a slew of powerful Republicans -- including the party's presumptive presidential nominee, U.S. Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.).
McCain will be joined by U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Louisville), and former White House Deputy Chief of Staff Karl Karl Rove, among others, at a political forum at Friday's National Rifle Association National Meeting in downtown Louisville.
The visit will be Clinton's third to Kentucky in the last two months on behalf of his wife. Earlier visits took the former president to Pikeville, Paris, Maysville, Frankfort and Morehead.
Sen. Clinton's opponent in the Democratic primary, U.S. Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois, visited Louisville on Monday and drew a crowd of 8,000. However, his campaign cancelled a Tuesday stop in Lexington, claiming important votes in Washington drew the senator back to Capitol Hill.
