Fischer takes heat for Obama flyer
By Trey PollardA flyer distributed by the Greg Fischer campaign associating the Democratic Senate candidate with presidential candidate and Senator Barack Obama (D-Ill.) has raised the ire of Fischer's foremost opponent for the Democratic Senate nomnination, Bruce Lunsford.
The flyer, which features photos of both Fischer and Obama, claims "there is another Democrat who is also fighting for change. Change we can trust! His name is Greg Fischer."
"This is just another in a long line of Greg Fischer's desperate and dirty tactics," read a release from the Lunsford campaign dispatched yesterday. "This particular ploy isn't fair to the Obama Campaign since they haven't endorsed Fischer and didn't authorize this flyer."
Ryan Alessi reported yesterday that the Obama campaign had nothing to do with the flyer, while Fischer's camp confirmed their candidate was not actually endorsing Obama.
From Polwatchers:
"The campaign hasn't taken any position on that race," said Obama spokesman Clark Stevens. "It wasn't authorized by our campaign."
Fischer's campaign consultant Kim Geveden said the flyer never implies any endorsements.
